Tenor
ukuleles were made by Martin from 1928 to 1977. The vast
majority were produced in the Style 1 configuration (called 1-T)
for the tenor. A few Style 3, 4 and 5 were made in the
30's and also some koa body tenors in the same period, but these
are extremely rare. Shown below is my Style 1-T ukulele
manufactured in the mid 1960's. The number of tenor ukes produced by
Martin was very small compared to the sopranos. My 1-T
features a body of solid mahogany as well as mahogany
neck. Body binding is a beautiful tortoise shell material
and rosewood fingerboard and bridge. Fitted with original
Grover friction tuners, the neck is a very thin and fast
shape. Click
