The
OM is my favorite size guitar. Introduced long ago as the
Orchestra Model, the OM is basically the same size as a 000.
This wonderful guitar shown below is my OM-42. The 14 fret
glossed neck is double bound in w/b/w trim with exquisite
abalone snowflake position markers. The headstock is rosewood
faced and bound in ivoroid, sports gold open gear vintage tuners
and has the distinctive "C.F. Martin" pearl block logo
down the center. Nutwidth is 1-3/4 inch. Top is choice Sitka
spruce bound in abalone and grained ivoroid, including the
perimeter of the fretboard extension. Back and sides are of
course beautiful polished rosewood. My OM-42 shown below is
factory fitted with the Fishman Eclipse Blend amplification
system consisting of the Fishman Acoustic Gold undersaddle
pickup and an internal high sensitivity dynamic microphone.
Control under the lip of the soundhole includes a blend slider
between these two sources. Click
